Toy box

When your husband doesn´t come straight home after work but instead decides to go for a stroll through the city that´s when you know nothing good can come of it. Or at least you can be sure that he´ll come home with an empty wallet. In my case the result is usually about two blurays for him, nothing for me - obviously and something random for Aurora. This time it was this awesomely awkward looking fish from our favorite stuffed animal company Kuschelwuschel. He has antennae! How cool is that?

When our friends son Eli had his second birthday party we got an invite to his party in the mail. I don´t know where they found this card but I think it´s so cute.
Inside it had, beside the time and place for the party, a place for his clothing and shoe size and favorite animals, so present buyers get an idea for what to get him, I thought that was a cool way of telling people what to get but still leaving room for their own ideas.

Dear Diary

These snapshots that Daddy took with his phone are good proof of two things: the first one shows the teeth colony (we´re up to 5 so far) that Aurora has been breeding in her mouth which makes her want to chew on ... well, basically anything (but preferably paper) and the second one shows the mobile baby seat I bought in action I wrote about earlier. Until it arrived I wasn´t sure how it could even really work but it does. It´s a pretty cool thing to have around (Sarah: don´t worry about looking for one, you can have ours by then I´m sure).

Closet

I know, I know this one isn´t actually that special. At least half the babies in Germany have one of these towels with a hood on it. But I still I had to sneak this snap shot as she came out of the bath tub after some aqua-fun with her dad the other day. My mum got me this for the baby shower (the party not the cleaning method for a toddler). It´s really funny to watch how she tries to cover up her grandma instincts that tell her to buy lots of cute stuff for her granddaughter (that would make her look normal) by buying stuff that is a little off beat (like horror movie shirts). The frog towels is probably the most normal one so far. Your facade is crumbling mum, you´re not fooling anyone - you´re a big fad suck when it comes to the little one.

Player

Kids, especially our daycare girl Noemi love dancing. Whenever there is music on she swings her arms about telling me to dance with her. So I like to put on some music in the morning when we all have breakfast together. Lately we´ve been listening to the "Flight of the conchordes" CD, which is a band as well as a mini TV series (if you haven´t heard of it yet go check it out! It´s hilarious!). It´s great for the kids because the band imitates lots of different styles of music, so they get a variety of styles before they can even finish their yogurt. The lyrics aren´t exactly fitting for children but ours are 8 months and 1 1/2 so it´s ok for now, but they sure a comedy for the adults which always make me start my day with a smile.

Utensils

This travel bed is definitely going to be my next shopping goal. It´s very light, folds down in a very convenient way and very stylish to look at. It´s 120 cm long so your child could sleep in there probably up to 6 years old and by then it might have a camping trip feel to it for kids which they may enjoy. Also I figure you could use it as a sun protection at the beach if you cover the roof of it with a reflective car window shade-sheet.

I got this plastic Disney princess crown years ago in a Mc Donalds happy meal. Long before I was married, long before I considered the name Aurora for my daughter. Strange coincidence that I would keep this piece of garbage for all this time and now my princess has her own princess Aurora tiara.
